It was noted during the meeting that 150th birth anniversary will be celebrated in March 2013.
The draft resolution (Reg. No. 11224) contains a number of recommendations: to the Government – to establish organizing committees for preparation of events, to approve their plan, and solve the problems of financial support; and to the State Committee on TV and Radio Broadcasting – to organize respective thematic TV and radio programs, ensure that the celebratory events are highlighted in mass media.
The document contains also the following suggestions: the National Bank of Ukraine should produce and introduce anniversary coin; the Ukrainian State Enterprise of Postal Services “Ukrposhta” should issue a series of stamps dedicated to the anniversary.
Members of the Committee took into consideration the fact that celebration of the anniversary is stipulated by the Decree of the President of Ukraine “On celebration of 150th birth anniversary of academician V. I. Vernadskyi” No. 972 of October 11, 2011 and by the Ordinance of the Cabinet of Ministers “On preparation and celebration of 150th birth anniversary of academician V. I. Vernadskyi in 2013” No. 151-р of March 28, 2012.
